On Tuesday morning, a group of armed robbers carried out a raid on three communities located in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State. During the attack, the robbers made off with cash, mobile phones, valuable jewelry, and various other possessions.
The affected communities are Alaja, Seriki, and Ogogo, all situated along the new Ibadan/Oyo Expressway in the Akinyele Local Government Area of the state. The incident transpired at approximately 3 a.m., according to reports obtained by our correspondent.
Raji Kazeem, a community leader, verified the occurrence of the robbery, stating, “Yes, it is indeed true. The armed robbers arrived in the middle of the night and targeted several homes. That is why you observed property owners and residents engaged in discussions in various groups.”
As of the time of this report, attempts to contact the state Police Public Relations Officer, Adewale Osifeso, have been unsuccessful, as he did not answer his calls and did not respond to messages sent to his mobile number.
