Former Super Eagles Captain Mikel Obi has has responded to the feud between him and afropop sensation Innocent Idibia also known as 2face.
The hit song “Only Me” was released by music star 2baba in 2010. This came after bits of gossip spread that in 2006, the ex Chelsea star Mikel Obi had snubbed him at a London club.
Mikel had never directly addressed the rumors up until recently, and 2face has stated that the song was never intended to be a diss track or about Mikel. Notwithstanding, when an inquisitive fan got some information about it, he explained that he never snubbed 2Baba at a London club.
Mikel underlined that he seriously loves 2Baba and couldn’t have ever disrespected him.
The Chelsea star posted a video of himself unwinding at home, where he should be visible paying attention to a tune by the late South African legend Brenda Fassie.
In his subtitle, he composed:
“When the music hits hard and you can’t get enough, Have a goodSunday,y my people.”
Reacting to the video, an Instagram user identified as xfranky22 asked the ex-football star about the old viral reports, saying:
“Did you truly snub 2face at a club in London back in 2006?”
Mikel debunked the rumour, saying:
“No, I never did. Am a big fan of his. So I wouldn’t do such a thing. Have a lovely day.”
