The faculty of communication and management studies held an inter-departmental speech contest on 20th April 2023.
The Libertarian team led by comrade Shofolayan Samuel invited all newly admitted students of FACMAS to her annual interdepartmental oratory contest held at the faculty conference hall on 20th April 2023 at exactly 11:00am.
Seven departments under the faculty are to present two representatives from HND1 and ND1 respectively on the topic : The Recipe for Political Maturity and National Emancipation.
The debate was divided into two segments i.e the first round was designed for all the lead speakers and second round for the second speakers and it started with Business Administration department having Olorunmola Damilare (HND1) presenting first down to the last lead speaker Ayomide Ajao (HND1) mass communication as arranged on the list given to the panel of judges.
The first round went well, in the second round, the speakers were called in a reversed order that is from the last department on the list to the first having Bamigbose Azeez (ND1) mass communication presenting first in this round.
When the two sections ended, the Honorable judges in person of Mr K.O Oladeji and Mr Oyinlola gave room to the audience to participate and afterwards Mr Oladeji connotatively interprete the topic to be “The recipe for Political sustainable and National Development” and gave his speech on it which was indeed educative.
The participants were appreciated and the results was announced in two sections i.e individual results and departmental results.
For the the individual results, Ayomide Ajao emerges as the best speaker while Bamigbose Azeez came second.
Now to the announcement of the final results, Public Admistration department came 3RD, Accountancy department came 2ND and the only department in the School, Mass Communication department came 1ST. The hall was filled with shouts of joy from the winners screaming we made it for Pressy(HAYSILVER).
The events came to close when the FACMAS president read the appreciation speech and implore all contestants to be present at the faculty orientation program on Tuesday 25th of April for their prizes.
